Andrea Kirwin 8pm

Andrea Kirwin is a singer-songwriter from the Sunshine Coast, Australia with Australian-Fijian roots. Andrea weaves melodies and storytelling together with her band to create a rich tapestry, much like the way her Fijian grandmother used to weave pandanus mats in the village. The daughter of a Fijian Preacher, Andrea grew up singing gospel and her live band performances are a soulful, funky, smooth and often spiritual experience. Her music crosses over various contemporary genres including hip-hop, folk, funk, blues and soul, however it is her gospel style vocal tones that make each song come alive. Her voice has been likened to Tracy Chapman, India Arie, Joan Armatrading and Aretha Franklin to name a few.

Andrea is an up and coming independent Artist on the National scene having self-produced 2 Albums under her own Record Label, Peace Run Records. She has performed all around the country at some of Australia's biggest music festivals such as The Woodford Folk Festival, Caloundra Music Festival, The Dreaming Festival, Palm Creek Folk Festival and Wintermoon in 2015. In 2016 She has performed at Four Winds Festival (NSW), Maleny Music Festival (QLD) and is a headlining act at Majors Creek Folk Festival (NSW). Andrea will be showcasing at this year's Music Expo Bigsound in Brisbane in October representing multicultural Artists from QLD and has also recently had a live song chosen for a Balcony TV compilation Album (10 chosen worldwide) that will be released digitally late 2016. She is one of Australia's hidden gems, and is set to release both a solo Album titled 'A Quiet Revolution' and a live band Album in 2017.
